A coupon is useful only when the final amount you pay is lower for the items you actually wanted. Start with the basket, then test the code. An advertised percentage alone does not tell you the saving.
The five checks before Apply
- Country: use the UAE storefront and confirm the delivery destination.
- Customer: distinguish new-customer codes from codes available to returning shoppers.
- Channel: an app-only code may not work on the retailer’s website.
- Eligible subtotal: an excluded item may not count toward minimum spend.
- Cap and expiry: find the maximum saving and the end time, including the time zone.
A percentage can be misleading
Suppose one hypothetical code gives 20% off with an AED 30 cap, while another gives a flat AED 40 off a qualifying AED 250 basket. The percentage code saves AED 30, not AED 50; the flat discount is better if both apply to the same items. This is an illustration, not a live offer.
Discount, cashback or store credit?
An immediate discount lowers the amount payable. Cashback may arrive later and depend on tracking or a qualifying payment. Store credit normally stays within the retailer’s account. Compare them separately and read the conditions before treating a future reward as money saved today.
Use the basket as the final check
Record the total before applying the code. Apply it once and read the response. Check that the item prices, delivery fee and payment method have not changed unexpectedly. If the code is rejected, look at exclusions before trying a different code. Do not pay on the assumption that customer support will apply it later.

Keep a simple record
Save the offer terms, order summary and receipt if you buy. Never send a coupon website your password, one-time code or payment-card information. An ordinary public coupon should be usable on the retailer’s own checkout.
